Oat Milk with Figs and Cinnamon

Do you have a powerful food processor at hand? Then this recipe is a great alternative to bought plant milk. In just a few minutes, you can make your own oat milk out of oatmeal. Dried figs sweeten the milk and a hint of cinnamon makes the drink a special deal.

Whether for Sunday brunch, in the coffee or enjoyed pure as a drink - oat milk is an all-rounder in the vegan kitchen. Here I show you how you to easily make your own oat milk.

Oat Milk with Figs and Cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 50-100 g of oats (depending on the desired consistency. 50 g for milk, 100 g a creamy consinstence like smoothie).

  • 1 liter of water

  • 3 figs

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

Preparation

First, grind the oatmeal into flour in a powerful food processor. Then add the other ingredients and blend on high speed for 2 - 3 minutes. For a homogeneous milk, you can press the milk through a thin cotton cloth. Personally, I don't mind if there are some solid remainings in the milch.

Serving

To serve, you can pour the milk directly into glasses and decorate with cinnamon, or bottle it, refrigerate and enjoy later. My cooking appetite wasn't quite satisfied after this quick recipe, so I used some of the milk directly to bake some waffles. Ready was the Sunday brunch!
